Assemblyman Michael Durso, in coordination with the New York Blood Center, will be hosting a blood drive on Thursday, July 1st from 2:45 p.m.- 8:45 p.m. at the West Islip Fire Department. This event will be held with proper COVID-19 guidelines in place.Donors must wear a mask and will have their temperature taken.Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. Each donor will receive a $5 gift card.To schedule an appointment, please visit the link below https://donate.nybc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/281560 or call Doreen at 516-478-5031.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically depleted New York State’s blood supply to significantly low levels,” said Durso. “One single donation can save up to three lives. A steady supply of blood ensures doctors and other medical professionals are equipped with enough blood for everyday medical emergencies. I encourage all those eligible to please donate.”

Please remember to eat, drink and bring your donor ID card or ID with name and photo. For more information, please contact Assemblyman Durso’s district office at (516) 541-4598.
