New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso (R-Massapequa Park), in partnership with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, is holding a Senior Medical ID Card program and Shed The Meds event on Thursday, June 18^th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the West Islip Public Library located at 3 Higbie Lane in West Islip.

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office medical ID cards assist seniors or those with medical needs to keep all required medical information available on a small card with them at all times in case of emergency. Seniors, 50 years old and older, can obtain a free medical ID card. No appointments are necessary.

All residents are invited to safely drop off unused, expired, or unwanted medications. Liquid and sharps will NOT be accepted.
