Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights) is seeking nominations from the community for his 2024 Women of Distinction awards, which he presents each year to mark Women’s History Month in March.

“It’s always an honor for me to recognize the extraordinary women in the community who work on its behalf,” said Assemblyman Colton. “We are looking to celebrate those women who, through their ongoing commitment to bettering the quality of life in the district and beyond, play key roles in building and strengthening the neighborhoods in which they live.”

Nominees, who always represent the diversity of the area, can have made their mark in business, education, humanitarian work, military service, community/civic affairs, health care, government or volunteerism.

The awards will be presented on March 10, 2024, beginning at 3 p.m., at the Federation of Italian American Organizations’ headquarters, Il Centro, 8711 18^th Avenue.
