Toys for Tots Picks Up Donations Collected by Assemblyman Colton
Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights), second from right, posed with staffers Christina Waszak and Shirley Yip as a representative of Toys for Tots picked up a box of children’s toys collected at his district office, 155 Kings Highway. “We are delighted to be able to contribute to this worthy effort,” said Assemblyman Colton. “Thanks to Toys for Tots, many families – who would otherwise be unable to purchase gifts for their children -- are able to celebrate the holidays.” Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 by Marine Corps reservist Major Bill Hendricks, under the auspices of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. It is currently operated by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, which was established in 1991.
