Dr. Larry He Appointed Co-Chief-of-Staff to Assemblyman Colton

Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights) is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Larry He as his new co-chief of staff.

A community activist living in Brooklyn, who is a leading force in the effort to prevent a homeless shelter from opening at 86th Street and 25th Avenue, Dr. He first worked for Assemblyman Colton as an intern graduate scholar in 2006.

“I’m very pleased to welcome Larry He back into my office, this time as co-chief of staff,” said Assemblyman Colton. “His expertise on a wide range of issues will be invaluable going forward, and I know my constituents will appreciate his breadth of knowledge and his deep commitment to assisting them.”

Dr. He, who has a Ph.D. in Ecological Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, previously served as senior analyst for the New York Independent System Operator and the California Independent System Operator, both of which are not-for-profit, public-interest corporations that oversee the operation of those states’ electric power systems and electricity markets.

Dr. He’s community service resume is equally stellar. He is a member of the National Governing Board of the Asian and Pacific Islanders American Public Affairs Association (APAPA), and has served as a board member of United Chinese Americans (UCA), board chair and president of the Chinese Community Center of the Capital Region of New York, executive director of the Global Asian Carp Coalition and a student senator during his education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

“I’m delighted to be working for Assemblyman Colton again, said Dr. He. “I look forward to serving the constituents in any way I can, and making the district an even better place to live, work and raise a family.”
