Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay Visits Mexico Library for Read-Aloud Event

Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C-Pulaski) visited the Mexico Public Library on Tuesday where he read to a group of local children and encouraged them to embrace reading throughout their summer break. During the visit, Leader Barclay promoted the Collaborative Summer Library Program, featuring this year’s theme, “Color our World,” designed to inspire creativity, imagination and a lifelong love of reading. After the reading session, Library Director Colleen Grzesik led a tour of the facility.

He also invited students to participate in the New York State Assembly Summer Reading Challenge, which rewards young readers who dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to reading for 40 days over the summer. Participants will receive a certificate of achievement from Leader Barclay upon completion. More information on the Summer Reading Challenge can be found here.
