Assemblywoman Nily Rozic Celebrates Earth Month with Compost Bin Giveaway for Local Residents
Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Nily Rozic marked the close of Earth Month by hosting a kitchen compost bin giveaway for local residents, distributing more than 50 bins to help families reduce food waste and adopt more sustainable practices at home.
The initiative aimed to empower community members to take simple, everyday actions that contribute to a healthier environment. By composting food scraps, residents can significantly reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills while helping lower greenhouse gas emissions.
“Protecting our environment starts with the choices we make at home,” said Assemblywoman Rozic. “By providing residents with the tools to compost, we’re making it easier for families to reduce waste and be part of the solution to our climate challenges. I’m proud to support efforts that promote sustainability and help build a cleaner, greener future for our community.”
The giveaway is part of Assemblywoman Rozic’s ongoing commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and supporting local efforts to combat climate change. As Earth Month comes to a close, she encourages residents to continue embracing environmentally conscious habits year-round.
