Assemblywoman Missy Miller (R,C,I-Atlantic Beach) and members of the Assembly Minority Conference introduced a bill that would prohibit a mask mandate by state agencies for children under 18 years who are healthy and non-symptomatic.
“After the confusion surrounding the mask mandate for our children, it’s abundantly clear this decision should be left up to parents and individual school districts,” said Miller. “Conflicting guidelines only result in confusion and frustration – and after the year that our teachers have had, we should be allowing them to decide what’s best for their students. Especially as Long Island is seeing scorching temperatures, we can’t force kids to keep masks all day long. It’s not right.”
