Simpson: NYSERDA Memo Confirms CLCPA Nightmare

A statement from Assemblyman Matt Simpson (R,C-Adirondack)

“I’ve been calling for an all-of-the-above energy approach for years,” said Simpson. “Rigid CLCPA mandates ignore reality, and now NYSERDA’s own memo confirms the nightmare we’ve warned about. Upstate families are facing over $4,000 a year in extra costs from the CLCPA’s aggressive targets, with fuel prices potentially surging more than $2 on top of current prices and rural households hit hardest by unreliable electrification pushes.

“It’s long past time to pause these unrealistic deadlines, rethink the flawed accounting and embrace a practical, diversified strategy that keeps bills down, jobs secure and the lights on for everyone,” Simpson concluded.
