Today, the New York State Assembly passed a resolution memorializing Sheridan Gorman of Yorktown. The resolution, sponsored by the Westchester Assembly Delegation, was led by Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown). Gorman was a proud Yorktown native whose kindness, leadership and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

She was murdered in Chicago on March 19, 2026. A community vigil is scheduled in Yorktown this Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Jack DeVito Gazebo at Yorktown's Veterans Field.
