Lemondes Celebrates Passage of Military Dependent Student Support Bill

Assemblyman John Lemondes (R,C,I-Lafayette) welcomed the passage of a bill yesterday that aims to provide children and dependents of military service members an easier transition into the state’s local school systems. Having moved frequently while serving himself, Lemondes knows just how far this will go toward making parents’ and kids’ transition to a new home easier.

“New York has a long history of its citizens serving the country in the military, and I’m proud to be part of the legislative body that’s helping to make their lives just a bit easier,” Lemondes said. “A military child has a unique upbringing, and with it can come a lot of challenges; challenges that military kids time and again overcome to succeed. This bill now ensures that they’ll have one less unnecessary hurdle to overcome.”
