Today, our Assembly Majority Leader, Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes, announced she will not be seeking reelection. While this is a tremendous loss for our Majority Conference, I wish her all the very best in this next chapter.

As a fellow Western New Yorker – and Bills fan – I have long appreciated Crystal’s leadership, strength, and unwavering commitment to our communities. She has been a true trailblazer throughout her career, leading our Conference with integrity and purpose while advancing meaningful, landmark legislation for New Yorkers.

Crystal has always been a steadfast supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and a champion for inclusion, equity, and opportunity for ALL. Her leadership has made a lasting difference across our state.

I know we will continue working together this session on the issues most important to New Yorkers, and I look forward to what we’ll accomplish together in the next chapter.
