Assemblyman Tague Convenes Roundtable on Property Crime and Public Safety

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie) participated in a bipartisan roundtable discussion focused on the rising challenges of crime, its impact on families and quality of life in Upstate New York and practical solutions to strengthen public safety.

The forum brought together state and local leaders, including Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks), Schoharie County Sheriff Albro Fancher, Schoharie County District Attorney Christopher Luhr and representatives from other local law enforcement and county agencies.

“We had a number of insightful conversations today that highlighted the real-world impacts of rising crime on our upstate communities. I want to extend my appreciation to all the local law enforcement professionals who took the time to organize this event and share their on-the-ground perspectives. These discussions are exactly what allow us, as elected officials, to bring solutions and stronger policies back to Albany. I am proud of my record to date and will continue supporting our law enforcement and find ways to improve public safety across New York State,” Tague said.

This week also marks Correctional Officers and Employees Week at the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Fancher said of the round table, “Today, we at the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office were proud to host our state, county and local law enforcement partners alongside elected officials for an important discussion on the challenges facing law enforcement across New York state and the need to support those who serve and protect our communities every day.”
