Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara Honors Lena Mallozzi Pasquariello on Her 90th Birthday
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara joined family and friends at Johnny’s in Schenectady tonight to celebrate the 90th birthday of Lena Mallozzi Pasquariello, presenting her with an official New York State Assembly Proclamation in recognition of her life’s achievements and community service.
An Italian immigrant, Lena worked for more than 50 years as a skilled baker, sharing her craft and her heart with generations. Beyond her work at the bakery, she devoted countless hours to volunteering at Proctors Theatre, serving at the City Mission, and as an active member of the Rotterdam Elks and the Sons of Italy.
“Like my own parents, Lena came to this country with a determination to build a better life,” said Santabarbara. “Her story is one of family, faith, and service – and her handmade sfogliatelle pastries remain an unforgettable symbol of her heritage and love. At 90 years young, Lena’s legacy continues to inspire her family and all of us in the community.”
The proclamation honors Lena’s lifelong dedication to her family, neighbors, and community – recognizing her as a shining example of the values that keep our communities strong.
