“Firefighters employed by the military and state Environmental Conservation officers face intense physical demands and potential dangers while on the job. These great men and women protect us and our communities, and it’s vital we support them with a pension that respects their dedicated service. In the 2025-26 state budget, I voted to provide them with a pension after 25 years of eligible service, aligning them with other public safety professionals and providing long-term financial security (A.3005C). It’s a no-brainer to support these incredible individuals with a pension reflective of the demanding requirements of their professions.”
