BILL NUMBER: A7527
SPONSOR: Burgos

TITLE OF BILL:
An act to designate certain zip codes as cease and desist zones

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA:
The purpose of this legislation is to stop intense and repeated solic-
itation by real estate brokers and salespersons within the geographic
areas of The Bronx and Mount Vernon.

SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section one of the bill adds all of the zip codes of The Bronx and Mount
Vernon to the relevant provisions of the real property law so as to make
those areas cease and desist zones. Section two of the bill sets forth
the effective date.

residential real property located within these areas to file an owner's
statement with the secretary of state expressing, per the statute, their
wish not to be solicited by real estate brokers, salespersons or other
persons' regularly engaged in the trade or business of buying and sell-
ing real estate.
