ORAL TESTIMONY BY INVITATION ONLY

In 1999, the United States Supreme Court decision in Olmstead v. L.C., 527 U.S. 581 (1999) (Olmstead) held that the state's services, programs, and activities for people with disabilities must be administered in the most integrated setting appropriate to a person's needs. The purpose of the hearing is to examine the availability of supports and services for individuals with developmental disabilities and to discuss the future needs of this population.

In order to meet the needs of those who may have a disability, the Assembly, in accordance with its policy of non-discrimination on the basis of disability, as well as the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), has made its facilities and services available to all individuals with disabilities. For individuals with disabilities, accommodations will be provided, upon reasonable request, to afford such individuals access and admission to Assembly facilities and activities.
