As problems persist in many parts of New York's mass transit system, I commend Governor Cuomo for taking bold action to address these issues head on. New York's mass transit system is the lifeblood of the metro region and it is imperative that we fix the severe problems that have frustrated hard working commuters. A safe and reliable transit system is critical to our economy. The Assembly stands ready to work with the Governor and new Metropolitan Transportation Authority Chairman Joseph Lhota as he assesses the need to improve our transportation system.
